You can use filters to show the network devices in groups. Apart from the preset filters (AppleTalk, device
type, groups) you can create individual filters. You can filter network devices by their firmware version or
name, for example.
Filters consist of one or two filter criteria connected by 'AND' or 'OR'. If a filter is to consist of only one filter
criterion, no entries need to be made for the second criterion. A filter criterion consists of
· a column (type, version, etc.) for filtering and
· a string that is filtered for.
Some columns require different or additional entries: · In the columns 'Version' and 'Page Counter' you must enter a comparison operator, e.g. 'greater' in
addition to the character string to be searched for.
· In the column 'Port Status' you must select printer messages for filtering. Click 'Change' to get a list of
printer messages.
1. Select Filter – New from the menu
bar.
The Filter Properties dialog appears.
2. Enter a filter name.
3. Select a search criterion from the Column list box.
4. Enter the character string for filtering.
5. Enter a second filter criterion, if necessary. Both criteria can be connected by 'AND'
or 'OR'.
6. Click OK to confirm.
The filter will be created. All network devices from the device list containing the character string to be
searched for will be displayed in the filter. 1. Select the filter to be edited from the left frame.
